What we do

Programs built on care, capacity and community — each one designed to meet a real need we have seen with our own eyes.

Pillar 01 · Health Initiatives

Healing hands, healthy communities

Susi Helping Hands Foundation outreach team engaging children and families

Community Medical Outreach

Many Nigerians in rural and underserved communities live hours from the nearest clinic, and even then, consultation fees and medicines are out of reach. Our medical outreaches take free, dignified primary care directly to them — set up in market squares, school compounds, and community centres.

Each outreach is staffed by volunteer doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, and includes free consultations, basic treatment, and referrals for cases that need more advanced care. We keep meticulous records so follow-up reaches the people who need it.

  • Blood pressure & blood sugar screening
  • Malaria testing & treatment
  • Deworming for children
  • Free consultations with doctors
  • Essential medicines distribution
  • Referrals to partner hospitals

Health Awareness Campaigns

Community talks on hypertension, diabetes, hygiene, and nutrition — because the cheapest cure is the illness that never happens.

Special Populations

Children, Mothers & Elders

Targeted screenings, deworming and support for children, expectant mothers and elderly community members — those most often left behind.

Pillar 02 · Empowerment

Equipping hands to build futures

Vocational skills training in welding and metal fabrication

Skills & Vocational Training

Unemployment and underemployment rob young Nigerians of dignity and hope. Our vocational training programs equip them — with a special focus on young women — with practical, income-generating skills they can use immediately.

Training runs in cohorts of 10-20 students, combines hands-on practice with business basics, and ends with starter kits and graduation support for the most committed students.

  • Welding & metal fabrication
  • Tailoring & fashion design
  • Hairdressing & barbering
  • Soap, pomade & detergent production
  • Basic computing & digital skills
  • Starter kits & graduation support

Pillar 03 · Education

Keeping every child learning

Joyful children supported through the education programme

Scholarships & School Support

Education is the surest bridge out of poverty, yet many bright children are sent home over unaffordable fees, uniforms and books. Our education programs keep them in class — and help public schools serve them better.

  • School fee scholarships for vulnerable children
  • Backpack, uniform & textbook drives
  • Exam coaching (WAEC/JAMB) support classes
  • Library corners in partner schools
  • Teacher appreciation & support programs
  • Digital literacy introduction classes
Pillar 04 · Welfare & Relief

Meeting urgent needs with dignity

Rice, water and welfare supplies ready for distribution to families

Food, Water & Essential Supplies

For families facing hard seasons — job loss, illness, bereavement, displacement — a food hamper or a jerrycan of clean water is not charity; it is a bridge. Our welfare outreaches identify the most vulnerable households through community leaders and deliver support with discretion and respect.

  • Food hampers for vulnerable families
  • Clean water distribution & borehole support
  • Hygiene kits (soap, sanitary pads, toiletries)
  • Clothing & blanket drives
  • Christmas & festive season outreach
  • Widow & orphan support programs

Seed Grants

An envelope that became a trade

When we hand over a grant envelope, we are handing over a livelihood. Recipients have used seed funding to stock shops, buy tools and launch enterprises that now feed their families.

A silent illness caught in time

Pa Samuel's blood pressure read 210/120 at our outreach — silent, dangerous, untreated. Today, with follow-up and subsidized medication, he is stable and thriving.
